Cane River Creole Soul is a musical memoir and cultural preservation project that chronicles the life journey of a Cane River Creole woman whose identity has been shaped by ancestry, faith, family, resilience, and purpose. More than an album, it is a love letter to the legendary Cane River community where generations of people are connected by culture, spirituality, and bloodlines that stretch across centuries. 

Set against the backdrop of Louisiana’s Cane River region, this collection of songs serves as a living archive that preserves stories often left untold. Through soulful storytelling, each song becomes a chapter that honors ancestors, celebrates family traditions, remembers cherished places, and documents a personal journey that spans from the bayous of Natchitoches to new beginnings beyond Louisiana. The project intertwines African, Haitian, Native American, French, Spanish, and European influences that together form the rich tapestry of the Cane River Creole experience. 

At its heart, Cane River Creole Soul is a testimony of survival, gratitude, and legacy. It is the story of a daughter, mother, wife, survivor, and faith-filled woman who recognizes that every step she has taken was paved by those who came before her.
